What are Custom Orthotics?
Custom Orthotics are custom shoe insoles tailored to a person’s specific needs, dysfunctions, or activity-specific requirements. They are prescribed and used to reduce or dissipate force on weight bearing joints; to correct for joint mal-alignment issues; or to improve support and comfort when standing, walking or running.

Custom orthotics are covered by most extended health plans. It is important that you call your insurance provider to determine who is approved to “prescribe” the orthotics and who is approved to “dispense” the orthotics according to your plan.
